Communication was established with the armed barricaded suspect and in addition to several call outs made by Special Enforcement Bureau personnel, the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody at approximately 1:15 p.m. without incident.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team responded to the 4600 block of Roxburgh Avenue, Covina, to assist San Dimas Sheriff’s Station regarding an armed barricaded suspect. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at approximately 11:14 a.m.

SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and the Crises Negotiation Team personnel are working to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution. 

The surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.

It is unknown if any deputy personnel or suspects are injured.
