Man found in possession of a loaded firearm in Duarte, charged with several felony counts
On April 8, 2017, Temple Deputies responded to the 2100 blk Huntington Drive, Duarte regarding reports of a male yelling at people for no reason. They located the disturbing party, identified as Benjamin Ellington MB/11-8-89 of El Monte (bkg #4956017), who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Ellington refused to comply with deputies orders and a brief struggle ensued. Upon handcuffing Ellington, deputies located a loaded .40 cal. handgun inside his jacket. Ellington was arrested and booked at the Temple Station jail. Today, April 11, 2017, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office at Alhambra Superior Court charged Ellington with two felony counts of resisting arrest with violence and one felony count of possession of a loaded concealed firearm. Ellington is scheduled to appear at Alhambra Superior Court later this afternoon. He is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility on $85,000 bail.
