Two Confirmed Dead after Crash on US 41 near Oaktown

Knox County – The Knox County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver and passenger killed earlier today on US 41 at Old US 41 near Oaktown as Stephen Hines, 70, and Ricky Hackle, 63, both from Jasonville, IN. Investigating officers believe Hackle was driving and Hines was his passenger.

The driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan has been identified as Anayeli Camacho, 30, of Oaktown. She was arrested for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a driver’s license. She was taken to the Knox County Jail where she is currently being held on bond. Camacho will also be cited for failure to yield.

Knox County – This morning at approximately 9:31, Indiana State Police and Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on US 41 at Old US 41 that killed two men and injured another driver.
Preliminary investigation revealed a female motorist was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on Old US 41 when she failed to yield the right of way to a 2004 GMC Yukon that was traveling southbound on US 41. After the two vehicles collided in the intersection, the Yukon GMC rolled and ejected the driver and passenger. One male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner’s Office and the other male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The female was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where she is currently being treated for her injuries.
Indiana State Police are currently attempting to identify all three individuals. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
