Inmates Michael Clark & Sean Kilbourn failed to return to SF Cmty. Work Ctr following job search; both white males.

Two state prison inmates have been placed on escape status after failing to return to a minimum-security facility in Sioux Falls.

Inmates Michael Clark and Sean Kilbourn left the Sioux Falls Community Work Center on the grounds of the State Penitentiary earlier today to search for employment. Escape procedures were enacted when they failed to return at the designated time.

Clark, age 31, is white, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Clark is currently serving an 8 year sentence for grand theft out of Charles Mix County and two concurrent 5 year sentences for second-degree burglary out of Miner County.

Kilbourn, age 28, is a white male. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds.

Kilbourn is currently serving a 4 year sentence from Tripp County for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance.

Anyone who sees or knows of their whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.

Failing to return to custody following an assignment or temporary leave constitutes second-degree escape, a class 5 felony, and is punishable by a maximum of 5 years in prison. South Dakota Codified Law 22-11A-5 states that any person who conceals any prisoner knowing that the prisoner has escaped is guilty of a Class 5 felony.
