Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 4/14/17 through 4/17/17.

Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 4/14/17, through Monday, 4/17/17.

4/14/17

-4200 blk Kite Rd, Ropesville: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to loose cattle in the area. The owner was located and responded to retrieve the livestock.

-100 blk Arnett, Ropesville: Fraud. A deputy responded to the travel center regarding a possible scanning device located on one of the gas pump locations. Video evidence was identified and a report was taken. The device was seized and an investigation in underway. It has not been determined if anyone used that gas pump after the scanner was placed. More information will be released when information is available.

-900 blk FM 3261, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm call at a residence in the area. The alarm was determined to be an accidental activation.

-3100 blk S. Hwy 385, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to the area related to a dog on the roadway. The dog was able to be moved from the roadway prior to arrival of deputies.

-300 blk 6th St, Whitharral: Unwanted Subject. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area related to an individual on the property. The area was searched and the individual was not located.

-300 blk 6th St, Whitharral: Suspicious Activity. Deputies were dispatched back to a different residence related to the same subject. It was unknown if he was on the property, but it was requested deputies search the area. The area was searched and the individual was not located.

-1800 blk N. Hwy 385, Levelland: Civil Issue. Deputies were dispatched to a dispute over residential property ownership. Court hearings are pending and civil remedies were advised.

-Hwy 114 East of Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Hwy 114. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.

-100 blk N. College Ave, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. An individual contacted a deputy and advised he had struck a deer on the highway near Whiteface. The individual was put in contact with DPS and remedies were advised.

-500 blk Reed, Whitharral: Suspicious Person. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate an individual believe to be in an abandoned residence. Several residences were searched and the individual was not located.

-6700 blk E FM 597, Anton: Suspicious Activity. A juvenile was contacted walking along the roadway who advised he was headed to a location in the area. The parents were contacted and the juvenile was released into the custody of the mother.

4/15/17

-5600 blk Cactus, Levelland: Theft. A deputy completed a theft report related to stolen farm equipment. Several tractor weights were reportedly stolen from the property. A report was filed and the investigation is ongoing.

-Hwy 62/82 at Killdee Rd, Ropesville: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy was contacted by an individual who advised his vehicle was disabled in the area and stated he would pick it up.

-1600 blk Ave S, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a call about possible property damage. It was determined by the homeowner that no offenses occurred.

-1500 blk Ave T, Levelland: Shots Fired. A deputy responded to a call about gunshots in the area. Individuals were contacted in the area who were lawfully target shooting on private property.

-Hwy 114 at Dover Rd, Motorist Assistance. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a female walking along the roadway. The deputy located the individual and transported her to work in Levelland.

-300 blk Brownlee, Whitharral: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported assault at a residence in the area. The subject left the residence prior to arrival of deputies. A report was completed and the investigation is pending.

-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Civil Dispute. Deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a civil dispute over property. When deputies arrived no one was at the residence.

-600 blk 9th St, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence related to a disturbance. Anton Police responded and advised parties left the area prior to arrival.

4/16/17

-500 blk Brownlee, Whitharral: Burglary. A deputy responded to a reported burglary at a residence in the area. A television was reported stolen, as well as a grill. A report was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

-2600 blk Robert Lee, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a reported animal death. Information was collected for a report due to the complainant advising a dog was possibly poisoned.

-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Civil Dispute. Deputies responded to a residence over a civil dispute. Remedies were advised to all parties.

4/17/17

-3100 blk FM 300, Levelland: Burglary. A deputy responded to a reported burglary at a residence in the area. Several items were taken and an investigation is ongoing into the reported offense.

-FM 1585 at FM 3261, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to check on a motorist stopped in the area. While there information was passed on about possible suspicious activity from a previous day. The information was collected and distributed to deputies for follow-up.

-400 blk Ranch, Ropesville: EMS Assist. Deputies responded to a residence regarding a possible unresponsive subject. EMS arrived and transported the individual prior to arrival.

Deputies conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, served civil process, and patrols in areas of the county.

Jail population as of 4/18/17 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, and 9 out-of-county.
