The US Postal Service is offering a new way to help combat mail theft. Informed Delivery is program in which you can digitally preview your mail before it arrives. Subscribers of the service will receive an email every morning that captures the front side of letter-size mail, showing who the sender is and to whom the letter is addressed. This service can help you find out about mail theft/missing mail sooner if you know to expect a piece of mail (i.e., new checks, bank statement, etc.) that day and it’s not in your mailbox. Just like your physical mailbox, the feature is provided at a household level based on a delivery point address, so multiple residents can sign up.
