Hit & Run Traffic Investigation Update
On Friday, April 21, 2017 at about 4:45 p.m., the Corona Police department responded to a hit-and-run traffic collision at the intersection of West 6th Street and Vicentia Avenue.
According to witnesses and video footage, the driver of a black Mercedes Benz SUV, possibly a 2005-2006 ML Series, turned northbound onto Vicentia Avenue, striking the pedestrian who was in the crosswalk at the time, leaving her with critical injuries.
The victim, later identified as 44 year-old Dora Bran, a Riverside resident, is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
Investigators from the Corona Police Department Collision Response Team have located additional video footage and images of the Mercedes-Benz that struck Bran. It is believed that after the collision, the suspect vehicle continued north on Vicentia Avenue without stopping and was last seen on Cota Street headed toward Parkridge a short time after the collision.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz SUV is possibly an adult female. The vehicle should have front-end damage and the driver's side curtain airbags deployed.
At this time, the Corona Police Department is still actively seeking the suspect and vehicle in this case. If you know someone who usually drives a car like this but does not have it today, we would like to hear from you.
Anyone who may have been a witness to this incident or anyone with information regarding the involved Mercedes-Benz, is asked to call Traffic Investigator Jason Gardner at 951-817-5784.
