Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 4/24/17.
Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 4/24/2017.
-800 blk FM 168, Smyer: Livestock Complaint. A deputy responded to a request to check the health and welfare of livestock in the area. It was determined that the animals had adequate food and water and no danger existed.
-300 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Juvenile Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a dispute between juveniles. No offenses were reported and remedies were advised to all parties.
-2600 blk Robert Lee, Levelland: Juvenile Issue. Deputies responded to a residence in the area related to a juvenile issue. The juvenile was located, transported to the residence, and later released to a parent in Lubbock.
-Bear Rd at Mallard Rd, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the area. The driver was located by a deputy walking in the area and was later transported to an area hospital for injuries. Troopers responded and worked the crash scene.
-300 blk Vernon, Anton: Check Welfare. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare of an infant at a residence in the area. No concerns were noted and the child appeared to be in good health. No offenses were reported.
-1200 blk Koala Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. Deputies were dispatched to property in the area after the landowner observed a vehicle driving on private land. The vehicle was located leaving the area and a traffic contact was initiated. The property owner was contacted and he knew the individual who had been on the property. No offenses were reported.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, served civil process, completed investigative follow-ups, and patrols in areas of the county.
Jail population as of 4/25/17 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 14 out-of-county.
