The Distracted Driving campaign has entered day #3 and the Montgomery Police have made a total of 66 traffic stops for several different types of violations since 12:01 AM on Monday. Some of these stops were for cell phone use without a hands free device, and texting while driving while many other stops were for speeding, lane violations, or disobeying traffic signals.
If you were one of those who were stopped by our department for some infraction, we hope our education and enforcement efforts can improve traffic safety for all motorists. We hope you were able to take something positive away from the police interaction. And if you were a lucky one, you may have even scored a free window cling that says "Drive Now, Text Later".
