SEPD took a report this afternoon from a parent whose child was offered a ride by a stranger on Monday 4-24-17. 
On 4-26-17 the Sleepy Eye Police Department received a report from a parent of an 8 year old child. The report stated that on 4-24-17 while the child was walking home from school an elderly white male with gray hair and a thin face stopped his vehicle in the road and asked the child if they wanted a ride home. The child said no and the vehicle drove away. The child had never seen the driver before. The elderly male was driving a newer red full sized pickup truck.
The Sleepy Eye Police Department would like all parents to speak with their children on accepting rides from strangers and what to do if they are confronted with a situation like these.
