Open Outdoor Burning is allowed in the Truckee Area to dispose of vegetation. Burn Permits FREE at any fire station

This is a great time of year to pile up dead and dying vegetation like grasses, shrubs, small tree limbs and pine needles to dispose of them before we are in fire season.  In our area Outdoor Burning of vegetation is allowed in small 4'x4' piles attended by someone.  You are required to have a burn permit to burn.  Go to any fire station to get a free burn permit.  The firefighter will explain a few simple rules of burning including calling the burning hotline to make sure its an allowable burn day (530) 582-1027.

Burning is only allowed on burn days during daylight hours, 4'x4' piles, only vegetation with someone in attendance that has some source of water like a hose or bucket.

Call Truckee Fire Prevention office at 530-582-7850 for more information.
