- Hazards: Potential of heavy rainfall tonight through Sunday night. Storm total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible, with highest amounts across northwest Indiana/southwest Lower Michigan. Lesser rainfall amounts are expected for portions of northwest Ohio. Forecast amounts are attached in graphical form. In addition, isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon and evening for locations south of Route 6 in northern Indiana/northwest Ohio.
- Locations: Northern Indiana and southern Michigan. However, potential for localized amounts in excess of 3 inches mainly across northwest Indiana and southwest Lower Michigan where a flash flood watch is in effect (see attached graphic).
- Timing: Rain showers across northern Indiana and southern Lower Michigan late this afternoon should tend to diminish toward early evening, but stronger showers with some embedded thunderstorms are expected to move in from the west later this evening into the overnight. Periods of showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday and Sunday night.
- Confidence: Medium to High confidence that portions of northwest Indiana and southwest Lower Michigan will receive in excess of 2 inches of rain through Sunday night. Low confidence in severe weather threat for Sunday.
- If higher end of forecast amounts verify, river flooding is possible into early next week. Street flooding and flooding of low lying and flood prone areas are also possible.
