Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 4/28/17, through Sunday, 4/30/17.
4/28/17
-Cactus at FM 2646, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate loose cattle. The owner also responded to the location and assisted in securing the livestock.
-300 blk East 8th St, Anton: Harassment. Deputies responded to a residence regarding a harassment call. The complainants wanted a subject to leave the property, and he complied when deputies arrived. No offenses were reported.
-400 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Civil Issue. Deputies aided in dealing with a civil matter between a husband and wife. No offenses were reported and parties separated.
-6800 blk East Hwy 114, Smyer: Check Welfare. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare of a child at a residence. No specific offenses were reported and the child was not at the residence.
-Hickory at Sherman, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted with a call of a fight in progress in the area. The area was searched and no disturbance was located.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. Deputies searched the area for a reported reckless driver. The vehicle that was described was not located.
-900 blk Wilma, Sundown: Warrant Service. Deputies assisted Sundown Police in serving an arrest warrant. The individuals was located and taken into custody without incident.
4/29/17
-6800 blk East Hwy 114, Smyer: Check Welfare. Deputies followed up on a call to check welfare of a juvenile. Deputies contacted the child, and the family, and all appeared to be in good standing. No offenses were observed or reported.
-6300 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to the area regarding a call of loose cattle along the roadway. The cattle were not located outside of any fencing.
-6300 blk Hwy 84, Anton: Assist Anton Fire Department. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area related to the smell of smoke inside the residence. The fire department arrived on scene. No fire was located.
-400 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted with a reported disturbance in the area. It was determined to be verbal only, and no offenses were reported.
-400 blk Pine, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with a reported fight in progress at a residence in the area. No disturbance was located.
4/30/17
-800 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a verbal disturbance in the area. The area was searched and no one was located. No offenses were reported.
-800 blk S. FM 168, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence. The disturbance was determined to be verbal only, but one individual had a felony warrant. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the jail without incident.
-400 blk Ellwood, Anton: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a possible theft of a package. The packaged was tracked to a location in Lubbock and the local police department was contacted. The matter is under investigation in Lubbock County as the offense occurred in Lubbock.
-1800 blk Kelly Rd, Levelland: Theft. A complainant reported a barrel of scrap metal was stolen from his property in the area. Suspects were named and the matter is under investigation.
-100 blk Carter, Sundown: Theft. A deputy completed a report for a theft offense that occurred. The complainant reported that currency was removed from the residence without consent. The matter is under investigation.
-FM 1294 at FM 168, Anton: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to locate loose livestock in the area. The livestock was located and secured. The owner was also notified of the issue.
-700 blk Spencer, Anton: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a residence regarding an animal issue. While responding, the complainant advised the issue had been handled. No offenses were reported.
-200 blk E. Cameron, Sundown: Burglary. A deputy completed a report regarding a burglary offense at a residence. Several household items were taken and the investigation is ongoing into the matter.
-200 blk Poplar, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted with a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. The scene was assumed by Levelland PD for any reports.
Deputies also completed patrols in the county, close patrols/vacation watches, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.
Jail population as of 5/1/17 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 5 to be processed, 11 out-of-county.
