A 21-GUN SALUTE MAY BE HEARD IN THE SHORELINE VILLAGE AREA TODAY AT APPROX 9:30 A.M. AS PART OF POLICE/FIRE MEMORIAL CEREMONY
Today, community members are invited to join public safety personnel, and city officials, at the annual Police & Fire Memorial Ceremony, which honors those Long Beach police officers and firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our community.
The memorial service will include remarks by Mayor Robert Garcia, Police Chief Robert Luna, and Fire Chief Mike Duree, as well as the posting of the colors, flag presentation, a “Last Alarm” tribute, a 21-gun salute and “Taps” by the Long Beach Police and Fire Honor Guards.
Please note that the 21-gun salute, which consists of three ceremonial shotgun volleys, will occur at approximately 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held as follows:

Time: 9:00 a.m. (expected to last approximately 40 minutes)
Location: On East Shoreline Drive, south of Shoreline Marina, near Gangway G. (south of Shoreline Village)
Parking in the area of Gangway G will be temporarily impacted and access to the bike path in the event area will be limited during the ceremony.
