COMMUNITY ALERT $50,000 REWARD Fatal Hit & Run Traffic Collision
On April 30, 2017 at approximately 12:00 a.m., a pedestrian was crossing eastbound on Vanowen Street across Sepulveda Boulevard in a marked crosswalk against a “don’t walk” signal when he was hit by a silver 4-door sedan traveling northbound Sepulveda Boulevard. The impact caused the pedestrian to collide with the roadway where he was struck by an MTA bus also traveling northbound Sepulveda Boulevard. The MTA driver immediately stopped the bus and remained at scene during the investigation. The driver of the 4-door silver sedan momentarily stopped, exited his vehicle then went back to his vehicle and fled the scene failing to identify himself and render aid. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at scene by responding paramedics.
