Officers Conduct Search for Missing Eight-Year-Old
At approximately 10:00 this morning, Modesto Police officers responded to the report of a missing eight-year-old boy from Woodrow Elementary School. The boy was dropped off at the school by his guardian at 7:45 AM and was observed walking toward the campus. According to school personnel, he never made it to class. The Modesto Police Department was contacted and the preliminary investigation revealed the child told a classmate he was going to the mall. Officers began searching the area in vehicles, on foot and with UAV’s. The Vintage Faire Mall security was notified and continued to check the surrounding area for the child. Shortly after 1:30 PM, staff at Woodrow Elementary School located the child hiding on campus and notified the police who responded to confirm he was safe.
