Muncie Woman Arrested for Heroin
Muncie – A Muncie woman was arrested last evening for Possession of Heroin after she was stopped for failing to signal a turn. Trooper Sam Cook stopped the Buick at Adams and Madison St. after it failed to signal a turn from Hackley to Adams St.
After making contact with the driver, Shalone Strong, age 25 of Muncie, he became suspicious. A Muncie Police Department K-9 unit, Officer Carrington, was nearby and came to assist. The K-9 did a walk around open-air sniff of the outside of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle turned up syringes, smoking pipes and two small bags containing heroin. Strong was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Syringe, both Level 6 Felony charges. In addition she was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended, both misdemeanor charges.
Strong was lodged in the Delaware County Jail. Anyone with information about illegal drug activity may call the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
