SRJC District Police Arrest Parolee At Large
On Monday, May 8, 2017, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Department Officers arrested parolee at large Daniel Jaebok Lee, a 41 year old transient, on a felony warrant out of Orange County and for felony violation of sex offender registration requirements, Section 290.018(b) of the California Penal Code.
The SRJC District Police became aware of Daniel Jaebok Lee because of reported unusual behavior in one of his classes. The District Police conducted a routine threat assessment. It was discovered Daniel Jaebok Lee was using an alias to attend the SRJC as a student. Upon further investigation, the District Police found Daniel Jaebok Lee was a sex crimes registrant for indecent exposure, child molestation, attempted lewd acts on a child under 14 and assault with intent to commit rape. It was then discovered he failed to register as a sex registrant and had illegally fled Orange County where he was on parole. A felony warrant was issued for his arrest.
After a week of actively searching for Daniel Jaebok Lee, the District Police arrested this violent, high risk sexual predator without incident on the Santa Rosa Campus. Daniel Jaebok Lee was booked at the Sonoma County Jail for processing and for extradition to Orange County.
This information is being released pursuant to Penal Code Section 290, commonly known as Megan’s Law. It should be stressed that it is illegal to use this information to commit a crime against any sex registrant or to engage in illegal discrimination or harassment against any sex registrant.
High-risk sex offenders have been identified by the California Department of Justice as having a high risk of re-offending and who may pose a greater danger to the public than other offenders.
