Construction Activities for the Week of May 7th, 2017

FLORENCE AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT
On Tuesday, May 9, crews will resume work to remove the remaining portion of the sound wall along the northbound I-5 Florence Avenue on-ramp, adjacent to Longworth Avenue. The sound wall removal operation will take approximately two weeks to complete. As soon as the old wall is removed, crews will immediately begin work to construct the new sound wall, which will take approximately three to four months to complete. This construction activity will be conducted weekdays, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please be advised, this work may be loud and disruptive due to concrete demolition and removal, equipment noise, sound wall construction activities and truck back-up alarms.

Next week crews be drilling CIDH (cast in drilled hole) piles along southbound I-5 for the new Florence Avenue bridge bent. In addition, pile driving activity will be ongoing intermittently for approximately the next four to six weeks, weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On Friday, May 5 crews will begin pile driving along work along southbound I-5. While pile driving activity will only be performed during the day, night crews may move equipment to reposition the pile driving rig within the work area. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, construction lighting (when equipment is moved at night), and vibration and pounding related to pile driving activity.

Finally, crews will be working at night in the center median of the freeway constructing the bridge column forms. Lanes on northbound I-5 at Florence Avenue will be reduced, Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 11 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., as crews work on the bridge column forms in the center median. At least one lane on northbound I-5 will remain open, while this work is conducted.

IMPERIAL HIGHWAY & PIONEER BOULEVARD PROJECT
Pile driving activity along I-5 at Pioneer Boulevard is ongoing; this work will be conducted weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and will be ongoing intermittently for approximately three months. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, vibration, and pounding related to pile driving activity.

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction will be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

ROSECRANS AVENUE & BLOOMFIELD AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT
There are no closures scheduled the week of May 7.

Rosecrans Avenue may be closed to all through traffic (motorists and pedestrians) in both directions underneath I-5, Monday through Fridays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Nighttime closures on Rosecrans Avenue will continue intermittently for the next six months. For detour information visit the project Google Map.

VALLEY VIEW AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT
Sunday May 7 through Thursday, May 11 crews will be performing work in the center median along northbound and southbound I-5 between Artesia and Alondra Boulevards. In order to complete this work, there will be partial lane reductions on I-5 and the northbound and southbound I-5 Valley View on- and off-ramps may be closed between 7 p.m. and 5:45 a.m.

Pile driving and shoring activities are ongoing on the south side of Valley View Avenue. This work will be conducted weekdays during the daytime between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
