"UPDATE" Death Investigation by the Indiana State Police at Lafayette
"UPDATE" The name of the deceased is Virgil L. Watts, 65 of Logansport. Family has been notified. The results of the autopsy showed no signs of foul play. Toxicology reports are pending. Any further information will come from the Coroner's Office of White County.
It should be noted that I failed to recognize the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office with assistance on the case.

White County-Yesterday evening around 8:30 p.m. the White County Sheriff's Department requested assistance from the Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post to investigate a death of a male subject found deceased behind a residence at 1631 North 1400 East Burnettsville, IN.
Upon arrival, investigators found the body on top of what appeared to be a burn pile. Unknown at this time if foul play is involved. An autopsy will be performed this afternoon. Positive identification of the victim has not been made at this time. No other information will be released. The investigation is continuing.
Assisting at the scene was the Monticello Fire and Rescue, White County Coroner's Office, White County Prosecutor's Office Idaville Fire Department, ISP Crime Scene Technician Sgt. Brian Olehy and the Burnettsville Fire Department.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
