Evansville Man Arrested for Multiple Offenses after Traffic Stop
Vanderburgh County - Yesterday evening at approximately 5:06, Trooper Ross Rafferty stopped the driver of a Ford Taurus on Villa Drive south of Riverside for improper registration. When Rafferty approached the vehicle he immediately detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The driver was identified as AKL Dereco Cortex Clark, 36, of Evansville. When Rafferty inquired about the odor of marijuana, Clark handed over a plastic bag containing approximately 160 grams of marijuana. During a search of the vehicle a loaded 9mm handgun was found between the driver’s seat and the center console. Further investigation conducted at Deaconess Hospital revealed Clark was under the influence of marijuana. Clark was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
