Anderson P.D. Recovers Out of County Stolen Vehicle 
On Thursday, May 11th 2017, at about 3:52 P.M., an Anderson Police Officer observed a blue Dodge Dart traveling northbound on McMurry Drive. The Officer conducted a records check on the vehicle and found the vehicle to be reported stolen out of Humblodt County.
The Officer conducted a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle, which yielded in the 2800 block of McMurry Drive. The driver failed to listen to officers commands, and fled on foot with her large dog. A foot pursuit ensued traveling east through the Motel 6 parking lot. The Officer safely apprehended driver and dog in the area of Ganyon Drive and Childress Drive.
The driver attempted to give officers a false name, but her true identity was found to be Veronica Lynn Adams, age 52, of Cottonwood. The vehicle had been stolen from Fortuna, California.
Adams was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting/obstructing an officer, providing a false name, and driving without a valid driver’s license. Adams was booked into the Shasta County Jail on the above charges.
