Police funeral procession routes announced for the funeral of Norton Shores Officer Jonathan Ginka.

The Norton Shores Police Department Is informing the community of further funeral arraignments, road closures and procession routes.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at:

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at:

Prince of Peace Catholic Church
1110 Dykstra Rd.
North Muskegon, MI 49445

Following the Mass there will be a procession from Prince of Peace Catholic Church to the Laketon Township Cemetery on Horton Rd. for interment. Lunch will be served immediately upon return from the cemetery.

Cards and letters of condolence may be sent in care of the Norton Shores Police Department at 4814 S. Henry St., Norton Shores, MI 49441.

Parking: Family, Norton Shores Police, City officials and handicap parking will be reserved in the Prince of Peace parking lot. Limited parking for friends and supporters will be allowed in the church lot due to space. Overflow parking will be along Dykstra and neighboring streets. Emergency Response vehicle staging information has been sent to agencies.

Police Procession: Immediately following the Mass of Christian Burial the family and emergency vehicles will escort Officer Jonathan Ginka to the Laketon Township Cemetery. The procession route will be East on Dykstra from the church, South on Witham, West on Ruddiman, North on Bear Lake, East on Fenner. Those who wish to honor Officer Ginka and support his family should line up along this route prior to 12:45 PM.

Road Closures: Several roads will be impacted during the funeral procession. Temporary closures will take place along the procession routes. Witham road will be closed from 9:00am until approx. 2:00 pm.

Press: The press will not be allowed inside the church during the ceremony. There will be a designated press area in the church parking lot.
