West Bound On Ramp to 210 Freeway at Fruit Street Shut Down 
This morning at about 7:40am La Verne Police Department officers observed an approximately 200 pound bear walking along Bowdoin Street. The bear made its way onto the 210 freeway. While walking on the freeway the bear was struck and injured by a vehicle on the eastbound lanes of the 210 freeway, west of the Fruit Street exit. The injured bear is currently on the embankment of the freeway. CHP has closed the Fruit Street on ramp of the West 210 freeway. Fish and Wildlife Department is on site. Residents of the immediate area are asked to stay inside their homes if the bear wanders into their yards.
