It has come to our attention that there is a company doing automated calls to homeowners in the area trying to sale alarm monitoring services for your burglar and fire alarms. This scam call asks you to press a button for a call back, and also shows to be from our number (254-772-4470) which will also show the "City of Woodway" on the caller ID.. This call is a scam and is not from the city. We do offer alarm monitoring service for only $19.95 a month with no contract, however we do not use an automated service to advertise this, you will only see it on our newsletter, website or your water bill. We also do not "sell or service" any alarm systems, we can only monitor your existing system. For more information on the scam or the actual service we do offer, feel free to contact the department anytime. If you are receiving these automated calls or you have fallen victim to the scam, please contact our department to make a report and we will do everything possible to prosecute those involved.
