Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 5/12/17 through 5/14/17.

Good Monday evening! I apologize for the delay but I have been in training all day. The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 5/12/2017, through Sunday, 5/14/2017.

5/12/17

-FM 1294 at Onion Shed Rd, Anton: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to a call about loose cattle in the area. No cattle were located outside of any fenced property.

-900 blk Grant, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. Deputies responded to the area related to a vehicle possibly occupied by an individual shooting from the roadway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located in the area.

-Hwy 114 at Richmond Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a call about an individual walking in the area. The deputy located the individual, who stated his car was disabled and he was waiting for family to pick him up. The vehicle was secured and the owner arranged to have it moved.

-2000 blk FM 41, Ropesville: Theft. A deputy completed a report related to a theft of fuel from a business in the area. The matter is under investigation.

-100 blk Arnett, Ropesville: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a business in the area. A female subject was contacted and was given a trespass warning by the management. The individual was transported to a residence in the area.

-3200 blk Barton Ln, Levelland: Mental Health Disturbance. Deputies responded to a call regarding an individual wanting mental health treatment assistance. One individual was transported to a hospital and released for voluntary treatment.

-2400 blk E. Hwy 114, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was searched and no vehicle matching the description provided was located.

-1700 blk Avenue X, Levelland: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to a possible fire in the area. It was determined to be a controlled burn.

5/13/17

-US Hwy 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a reckless driver on the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-3200 blk FM 2646, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the area. The caller advised the individual was not taking medications as prescribed and was causing a disturbance. No criminal offenses were filed by the caller, but information for a report was taken.

-200 blk Cleveland, Smyer: Civil Issue. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a civil matter. Remedies were advised to the complainant.

-Badger at 6th St, Whitharral: Traffic Hazard. A deputy was notified of a roadway obstruction. The deputy responded and on arrival observed the roadway was clear of any obstructions.


5/14/17

-3800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Open Door. Deputies were dispatched to an open door at a building in the area. The building was searched and no one was located. There were no signs of tampering, and the building was properly secured.

-6800 blk Bearcat Rd, Smyer: Alarm. Deputies responded to an alarm call at a residence in the area. The activation was determined to be accidental.

-Sylvan at W. Ellwood, Anton: Intoxicated Subject. Deputies responded to a call about an intoxicated subject in the area. The area was searched and the individual was not located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.
