The Nash County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen NCSO rifle and other duty related equipment.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 20, 2017, a Nash County Sheriff’s Office sworn deputy discovered that their county vehicle had been broken into. A Colt AR-15 rifle and other items were stolen as a result of the vehicle break-in.

Items stolen:
• One Black Colt AR-15 A3 .223 rifle
• One Rifle Magazine
• One Evidence Fingerprinting Kit

The AR-15 has been entered as stolen in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Investigators are following up on leads at the moment. Anyone with information on the stolen items should call Chief Deputy Brandon Medina at 252-886-06360. No further information at this time.
