* At 247 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles west of
Rutherfordton, or 6 miles southeast of Chimney Rock State Park,
moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
