Press Release: 2 subjects arrested for multiple offenses following motor vehicle stop

ACCUSED: Gregg Woolley Age 59 Avon, NJ and Miriam Morales Age 44, Asbury Park, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On May 16, 2017 Ptl Brad Kerney was on routine patrol in the Borough of Deal. At approximately 10:15pm Ptl Kerney observed a 1998 Ford Escort traveling south on Norwood Ave with an equipment violation. Ptl Kerney conducted a motor vehicle stop on Norwood Ave just into Allenhurst. A subsequent investigation revealed the driver to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and both occupants were found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances. Both subjects were arrested and transported to Deal Police headquarters for processing.
Woolley was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspect heroin, possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle and maintenance of lamps. In accordance with bail reform guidelines Woolley was released on his own recognizance after posting partial bail on his outstanding warrant. Morales was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspect heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. In accordance with bail reform guidelines Morales was released on her own recognizance. Both subjects are a pending court date.
