THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE ILLINOIS COUNTIES OF

GALLATIN
HARDIN
POPE
SALINE
WHITE


KNOW WHERE TO GO BEFORE SEVERE WEATHER THREATENS.

IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND KNOW WHERE SHELTER IS, ESPECIALLY AT CAMP GROUNDS AND LAKES.

A SERIES OF THUNDERSTORMS IS FORECAST TO PASS THROUGH THE AREA TODAY AND TONIGHT, WITH STRONG WINDS, LARGE HAIL, FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND TORRENTIAL RAINS. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR TORNADO DEVELOPMENT AS WELL.

BE SURE NOT TO CAMP IN AN AREA THAT IS PRONE TO FLOODING. JUST BECAUSE IT IS NOT RAINING WHERE YOU ARE CAMPED DOESNT MEAN IT WILL NOT BECOME FLOODED.
