PLACE OF DEATH: Located in Kern River, about 1 mile west of the Keysville Boat Launch entrance
INVESTIGATING AGENCY: Kern County Sheriff’s Office
DETAILS: The decedent entered the Kern River in a raft at the Keysville Boat Launch. The raft overturned, and the decedent fell into the river. Witnesses observed the decedent attempting to swim to safety, however at one point he went under water and did not resurface. His body was located the following morning. A postmortem examination will be scheduled to determine cause and manner of death.
