PRESS RELEASE FOR SEYMOUR WEAPON CALL
On Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:14 PM Seymour Officers were dispatched to an address in the 600 block of Crestview Drive in the City of Seymour. A 32 year old male subject had called 911 and stated he was armed and intended to shoot himself. Seymour officers along with units from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Black Creek Police Department and Freedom Police Department formed a perimeter and made contact with the male. As negations started the male suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No weapons were discharged by responding officers and there were no other reported injuries associated with this incident. The male subject was taken by EAGLE III medical helicopter to an area hospital for treatment. There is no public safety risk to the community from this incident. The Seymour Fire Department and Seymour Rescue Squad also assisted at the scene.
