At approximately 4 pm, June 5th, Montgomery Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1900 blk of Waverly Way for a well-being check of an adult male. Additional information was provided and a possible gunshot occurred. Upon arrival, Officers observed one bullet hole and a broken window. Officers attempted to make contact with the resident with no results. Montgomery Officers secured the scene and contacted the Kane County Swat Team for assistance. After multiple attempts to make contact via loud speaker, the Swat Team entered the residence and observed a male Hispanic deceased.
Montgomery Police Department was assisted by the Kane County Swat Team, Kane County Sheriff's Office, Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Yorkville PD, Illinois State Police, Sugar Grove Fire Department, and Kane County EMA.
The name of the deceased will be released later after next of kin have been notified.
