Detectives need the public’s help in locating Derrick L. Whatley, 33, of Madison Avenue in Akron. Whatley is wanted for aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
On May 26, 2017, Whatley entered an unlocked door of an apartment in the 300 block of South Maple Street. Once inside the apartment, Whatley pistol-whipped the 50 year old female resident and took $75,000.00 in cash before fleeing the victim’s apartment on foot. The victim had just received the money from an inheritance.
Derrick Whatley is 5’10” and 205 lbs. He is bald with a beard and mustache. He should be considered armed and dangerous!
