The Ontwa Twp. Edwardsburg Police Department reports that on June 7th 2017 at 11:34 hrs. officers responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident that occurred at the intersection of M 62 and Elkhart Rd. The victim in the accident, Jenna Lee, 42, of Edwardsburg, was crossing M 62 and had the right of way. The driver of the suspected vehicle was turning North onto M 62 from Elkhart Rd and failed to see Lee, hitting her as she was near the middle of the roadway. Lee was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital by Edwardsburg Ambulance Service. The suspect driver was charged with no insurance and failing to yield. The suspect driver’s name is being withheld pending arraignment. The report will be turned over to the prosecutor for further review. Edwardsburg Fire Department assisted on scene.
