Theft of Property Arrest 
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Steele man has been arrested in connection to the theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Fredrick Adam Hoffman, 29, of Steele, is charged with one count of first degree theft of property, which is a felony,” investigator Brain Smith said.
Hoffman allegedly asked to borrow a 16 foot utility trailer from a neighbor on June 2nd, and agreed to return it on June 4th. The victim made the theft report after several failed attempts to have the trailer returned.
On June 5th, Hoffman was arrested by the Gadsden Police Department for another outstanding warrant. When arrested, he was in possession of a receipt where he had pawned the utility trailer on the same day he borrowed it.
The trailer has since been recovered.
Hoffman was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond for the theft of property.
