Residential Burglary ~ Occupied & Unoccupied Advisory
The Torrance Police Department would like to remind residents to always lock the doors and windows to their residences when they leave and when they sleep.
Nighttime burglaries committed by cat burglars who enter occupied residences, increase in warmer months as more residents leave windows and doors partially open for ventilation. For added security, exterior lights and interior lights left on or on timers are good deterrents.
The increase also applies to daytime burglaries as more windows and doors on unoccupied residences are left open / unsecured for ventilation and / or pet access.
