*2nd Update* Suspect Identified Regarding the Child Shot in East Rancho Dominguez @ComptonLASD
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a child who was injured on the 4600 block of East Compton Boulevard, East Rancho Dominguez, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
The condition of the child remains unchanged at this time.
The suspect, Luis Julian Perez-Beltran, male Hispanic, 22 years-old, was booked at Compton Sheriff’s Station and arrested for an Attempt Murder charge. He is being held in lieu of $9,070,000 bail.
*At this time, the booking photo of Suspect Perez-Beltran, will not be released to the public.
There is no additional informational and the investigation remains on-going.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are responding to the 4600 block of East Compton Boulevard, East Rancho Dominguez, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a child who is listed in stable condition.
The little boy was struck at least one time on the upper torso. Sheriff’s deputies, in a desperate attempt to save the child, rushed the child in a patrol car to a local hospital.
There is no suspect(s) information available at this time.
Sergeant Cotter, Homicide Bureau, will be available at the media staging area located at East Rancho Dominguez Park, Compton.

**Media Staging Area: East Rancho Dominguez Park, 15116 Atlantic Avenue, Compton**
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies from Compton Station responded to the area of Compton Boulevard and Lime Avenue, East Rancho Dominguez, regarding an “illegal shooting, assault with a deadly weapon-gunshot victim call.”
Upon their arrival, deputies located a very young boy who was struck by gunfire at least one time to his upper torso. Deputies immediately grabbed the child and transported him in their patrol car to a local hospital. The condition of the child is unknown.
There is no suspect(s) information available at this time.
An active crime scene containment of the surrounding area is in effect.
A representative from Sheriff’s Information Bureau will be at the media staging area located at East Rancho Dominguez Park, Compton.
