Heat Advisory remains in effect through Thursday
Inland portions of the San Francisco Bay Area will continue to experience high temperatures ranging from 90 to 105 degrees across most inland areas throughout the week. The City of Menlo Park encourages you to stay cool and be mindful of the impacts of the high temperature.
Hot weather can create situations in which heat illnesses are possible.
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Stay in an air-conditioned room
• Stay out of the sun
• Check up on relatives and neighbors
• Avoid leaving pets or family members in hot cars
PG&E forecasts continued power outages throughout the week due to the increased use of air conditioners. While the City of Menlo Park does not have “cooling centers,” there are several City facilities that may provide respite from the hot temperature. The Senior Center, Onetta Harris Community Center, Arrillaga Recreation Center, and Menlo Park Library are City facilities (www.menlopark.org/277/Recreational-facilities or www.menlopark.org/416/Library-hours) that offer air conditioned spaces during the day for residents to cool off and also enjoy a book or the pool.
