By now you are probably well-aware of this morning’s press conference by KYTC regarding this summer’s routine maintenance project on the Brent Spence Bridge. You will also remember that we mentioned at our April mayors’ meeting that more details would be forthcoming on this.

KYTC is managing this project and has set up a website for folks to track what’s going on: http://brentspence2017.org/. We hope you will help spread the word because the biggest takeaway KYTC has is: plan the drive and know your lane if folks have to travel the corridor.

You’ll also remember that the public is being encouraged to use I-471/I-275 in our County as an alternative. So, communities around that junction and north of it should anticipate seeing increased traffic, as well, once the project begins this Friday, June 23, for 60 days (and then periodic overnight lane closures through November).

We recommend leaving early and being patient. You cannot do yourself, your employer or your family any good if you don't get there in one piece. Be safe!
