Burglary/Theft of Property Arrests
(Etowah County, Alabama) Five individuals have been arrested in connection to several recent burglaries, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Justin Wayne Ryan Bearden, 26, of Attalla, is charged with two counts of third degree burglary, two counts of first degree theft of property, three counts of second degree theft of property and one count of certain person prohibited to possess a firearm, all are felonies,” investigator Adam Chapman said. He is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center.
Kasey Brooke Alford, 28, of Rainbow City, is charged with two counts of third degree burglary, two counts of first degree theft of property and three counts of second degree theft of property, all are felonies. She is being held in the Detention Center,
Jeffrey Lane Bearden, 53, of Altoona, and Matthew Dee Bearden, 32, of Boaz, are each charged with one count of first degree hindering prosecution, a felony. Both men have made bond and were released from the Detention Center.
Jeffery ‘Scott’ Eugene Bearden, 29, of Altoona, is charged with one count of second degree receiving stolen property, a felony. He has a probation violation and is currently in the Detention Center.
The arrests of these five individuals has led to the closure of four burglary cases in Etowah and one in Cherokee County.
Justin Bearden and Kasey Alford are charged with burglaries that occurred on Minshew Drive, Old Gallant Road, Sunset Trail, and a hunting club in Gallant. These burglaries happened between May 22nd and June 2nd. Various items were stolen such as a Nintendo Wii, handgun, two four-wheelers, a 22 caliber rifle, two Stihl chainsaws and various Dewalt power tools.
At this time, the Nintendo Wii, two four-wheelers, rifle, both chainsaws and the power tools have been recovered.
Justin Bearden had been on the run from law enforcement for several weeks, knowing he had outstanding felony warrants. Jeffery Lane Bearden and Matthew Bearden were aware of these warrants, after speaking with Investigator Chapman, and failed to turn Justin into authorities when he was at their residence. Justin eluded deputies on May 31st at Jeffery Lane Bearden’s residence and was apprehended on June 13th at Matthew Bearden’s residence.
Jeffery Scott Bearden was taken into custody after an individual contacted the Sheriff’s Office suspicious of a four-wheeler that he had bought from him. When the verification identification number was checked, it came back as being stolen out of Cherokee County.
