Advisory

Please Be Smart While Enjoying the Warm Weather

Now that summer is officially here, many of you have probably noticed we are experiencing some wonderful but higher than normal temperatures. The staff at Anderson Police Department would like to remind you to be smart while enjoying this warm summer weather.

Stay hydrated and use sunscreen to protect your health.

Cool off by enjoying the air conditioning in our local shops, restaurants and the Anderson Library.

Take advantage of some fun outdoor activities like the Shasta District Fair taking place this week, Anderson Explodes on July 3rd, Mosquito Serenade which happens Wednesday evenings or just enjoy Anderson River Park.

While you are shopping, dining or enjoying our city please remember one final very important rule: Do not leave any living creatures in your vehicle! The temperatures inside a vehicle on a hot summer day can reach over 120 degrees within 20 minutes. If you leave a pet, or a child, or a grandparent in your car during hot days it could lead to death or serious heat related illness. You would not risk leaving your cell phone in the car when it’s hot so please don’t leave a loved one.
