4th of July Fireworks
As we edge closer and closer to July 4th, fireworks are becoming a hot topic of discussion and concern. The City of Bellflower only allows “Safe and Sane” fireworks between July 1st and July 5th from 10:00am to 11:00 pm. (*Please note that on July 4th, safe and sane fireworks are allowed until midnight*). The Sheriff’s Department will be conducting extra patrols in marked and unmarked vehicles looking for those that are discharging and/or in possession of illegal fireworks; fines start at $1,000. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Lakewood Sheriff Station (562-623-3500) with the location of individuals discharging illegal fireworks.
Almost all neighboring cities experience similar problems with both legal and illegal fireworks during this time of year and Bellflower is no exception. Additional Sheriff Personnel will be working in Bellflower with the sole purpose of catching as many violators as possible
