Only Safe and Sane fireworks are allowed in Sebastopol.
For all those who enjoy fireworks, the City of Sebastopol permits the sale and use of Safe and Sane fireworks within the city limits beginning tomorrow (Wednesday, June 28th) at noon, and ending at midnight on Tuesday, July 4th. The fireworks can be used between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm on weekdays and between 9:00am and 10:00pm on weekends. On July 4th, fireworks can be used up until midnight.
The City welcomes the safe use of legal fireworks, but offers the reminder that it is a violation of the Sebastopol Municipal Code to use fireworks in any City park (SMC 9.24.240(a).) Any person found in possession of illegal or unsafe fireworks will be subject to citation or arrest, depending on the level of violation.
Effective this year, absolutely no fireworks of any kind may be brought onto or used on the Analy or Laguna High School properties at any time, including during the July 3rd community event.
The members of the Sebastopol Police Department wish everyone a fun and safe Independence Day Holiday weekend. We ask that if you use fireworks here, you make sure they are Safe and Sane, and that each person remains mindful of everyone’s safety (including pets and other wildlife in the area.) If you do participate, it is a good idea to have both a personal and family plan in the event of injury or fire.
If anyone has any questions, please contact the Sebastopol Police Department 707-829-4400, or the Sebastopol Fire Department at 707-823-8061.
