Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Morgane LeeAnn Whitt, 20, of Gadsden, was arrested on Friday, June 30th, and charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
Whitt tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine while pregnant. She also faces charges for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
She was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on a 10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment warrant. As a condition of her bond, Whitt must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections upon release.
The Etowah County Department of Human Resources is currently involved in Whitt’s case.
