Carver Road Fire Hydrant Test
Las Cruces Utilities will perform a fire hydrant test beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, near the intersection of Carver Road and South Main Street.
This action could create discolored water for residents and businesses in the area from Watson Lane south to Pajaro Road and Highway 28 east to Stern Drive. Discoloration is due to naturally occurring iron and manganese in the water. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
Any discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents and businesses should flush all cold water faucets for five minutes. If discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 526-0500 for assistance.
