A "Watch" Level Travel Advisory has been implemented due to flooded roads. Only essential travel is recommended.
The Marshall County Commissioners have implemented a "Watch" Level Travel Advisory due to numerous roads that are flooded throughout the county and are currently impassable. A "Watch" Level Travel Advisory means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public and only essential travel is recommended (i.e. to and from work, emergency situations etc. At this level, emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, government agencies and other organizations.
Drivers are reminded that roads may be posted closed or barricaded due to high water or downed trees and that they should not drive around or ignore signs.
Be especially cautious while driving at night as water across roads is harder to see.
Trees or branches that have fallen may be entangled in power lines. NEVER touch a downed line or try to move trees or other objects that may be in contact with a power line. Contact the local utility company to report downed lines or the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 574-936-3187.
