The Farad Fire, north of I 80, one mile west of the Sierra County line near Verdi now 670 acres 20% contained.

The Farad Fire started at around 1:00 p.m. on July 10 north of Interstate 80, approximately one mile west of the Sierra County line near Verdi, NV. The fire is burining in very steep terrain in grass, sagebrush and timber. Fire is now 670 acres and 20% contained. Fedrals, State and Local fire agencies have been on the scene along wiht various air resources.
