This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with an emergency message on Tuesday, July 11th.
A brush fire is burning in the Flinn Springs area near Flinn Springs Road and Old Highway 80.
There is concern this fire may spread to homes, so be prepared to evacuate if a notification is made in your area.
More than 900 Alert San Diego messages (email, text, phone calls) went out to notify people who live in the area of the evacuation warning as a precaution.
An evacuation warning means that evacuations are currently voluntary, however everyone should be prepared to evacuate if an evacuation order is issued.

2001 Tavern Road, Alpine
Per the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Eastbound I-8 has been shut down at Lake Jennings Park Road. Find an alternate route.
