ACCUSED: Sasha Everett, Age 41 Long Branch, NJ

NARRATIVE:

On July 6, 2017 at approximately 4:00pm Ptl Dave Talty was on routine patrol in the Borough of Deal. Ptl Talty observed a vehicle commit several motor vehicle violations on Norwood Ave and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Gulf station located in Elberon. During the stop the accused provided false information and false documents and ultimately fled the scene on foot. This resulted in a brief foot chase involving Ptl Talty, Ptl Kerney and Officer Wong. The accused was apprehended in the rear of a property on West Lincoln Ave in Ocean Township.

The accused was subsequently charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, 1 count of attempting to disarm a police officer, 2 counts throwing bodily fluids at a police officer, 1 count destruction of evidence, 1 count of obstruction, 1 count resisting arrest, 1 count providing false information, 1 count possession of prescription drugs not in proper container, 2 counts providing false documents to police, as well as several motor vehicle violations. The accused was also found to have multiple outstanding warrants totaling $132,000. In accordance with bail reform guidelines Everett was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
